Here on the OSED.org website I use a simple rating system when critiquing a piece of software, an internet-based service, or freely available content. Each item under consideration is assessed for Freedom, Openness, Privacy, and Control and then receives a rating as described below:
Platinum
Platinum is the highest rating given in critiques of software, content, and services here at OSED.org. A Platinum rating means that the item in question scored highly in all four categories.
Gold
Gold is a high rating given in critiques of software, content, and services here at OSED.org. A Gold rating means that the item in question scored highly in three categories.
Silver
Silver is a very good rating given in critiques of software, content, and services here at OSED.org. A Silver rating means that the item in question scored highly in two categories.
Bronze
Bronze is a good rating given in critiques of software, content, and services here at OSED.org. A Bronze rating means that the item in question scored highly in one category.
